“The Lost Heiress” Book Review
Welcome back to Rachel’s Back Talk! I’m so glad you could join me again. Today I am reviewing Roseanna White’s newest release, The Lost Heiress.
As is my custom, if I could ask Roseanna one question about The Lost Heiress it would be — “How was it to come up with a realistic reason to keep Brook and Justin apart?” And if you want to know why I asked that question, I guess you’ll just have to read the book to find out!
And without further ado, onto Rachel’s Back Talk!
From the Back Cover:
Brook Eden has never known where she truly belongs. Though raised in the palace of Monaco, she’s British by birth and was brought to the Grimaldis under suspicious circumstances as a babe. When Brook’s friend Justin uncovers the fact that Brook is likely a missing heiress from Yorkshire, Brook leaves the sun of the Mediterranean to travel to the moors of the North Sea to the estate of her supposed family.
The mystery of her mother’s death haunts her, and though her father is quick to accept her, the rest of the family and the servants of Whitby Park are not. Only when Brook’s life is threatened do they draw close–but their loyalty may come too late to save Brook from the same threat that led to tragedy for her mother.
As heir to a dukedom, Justin is no stranger to balancing responsibilities. When the matters of his estate force him far from Brook, the distance between them reveals that what began as friendship has grown into something much more. But how can their very different loyalties and responsibilities ever come together?
And then, for a second time, the heiress of Whitby Park is stolen away because of
the very rare treasure in her possession–and this time only the servants of Whitby can save her.

This book lived up to my expectations — and more! From looking at the front cover, I knew I would love this book and I was right. I fell in love with Brook, Justin, Deirdre, Lord Whitby, and Lord Worthing. The characters drew me in and the plot line kept me engaged all through the book.
Brook’s character was wonderful! She was certainly a lively heroine and I loved how her spontaneous nature matched Justin’s cautious one so well. The two were so well matched, even if they thought they were “just friends” for so many years.
What was wonderful was the faith that both Brook and Justin had to learn. Justin had introduced Christ to Brook before, but it was at this time in their life, that they both realized that they had to rely on HIM and not each other to get through difficult times. It was a great reminder for us all!
I received this book from Bethany House in exchange for an honest review which I have given. All ideas are my own.
