“Out of the Storm” Book Review...

Welcome back to Rachel’s Back Talk! I’m so glad you could join me again. Today I am reviewing Jody Hedlund’s novella, Out of the Storm. This is a prequel to her new series “Beacons of Hope” and it is FREE on Amazon Kindle!! A no-brainer in my book!!   As is my custom, if I could ask Jody one question about Out of the Storm, it would be — “What made you want to write a series about different lighthouses?” And if you want to know why I asked that question, I guess you’ll just have to read the book to find out!   And without further ado, on to Rachel’s Back Talk!     From the Back Cover: Having grown up in a lighthouse, loneliness is all Isabelle Thornton has ever known–and all,...

“A Lasting Impression” Book Review...

Nov 17, 2014 by

Welcome back to Rachel’s Back Talk! I’m so glad you could join me again. Today I am reviewing book 1 from Tamera Alexanders’s Belmont Mansion series, A Lasting Impression. This is the first of Tamera’s books I have read and it was truly magnificent! I loved how she brought real life people into a historical book.   As is my custom, if I could ask Tamera one question about A Lasting Impression, it would be — “What drew you to write a series based on Adelicia Acklen?” And if you want to know why I asked that question, I guess you’ll just have to read the book to find out!   And without further ado, on to Rachel’s Back Talk!                            ...

Welcome back to Rachel’s Back Talk! I’m so glad you could join me again. Today I am reviewing  one of Julie Klassen’s books, The Tutor’s Daughter. This was the first of Julie’s books that I have read and I was instantly hooked on her writing!   As is my custom, if I could ask Julie one question about The Tutor’s Daughter, it would be — “How did you decide which brother to be the ‘trouble-maker’ and bring Emma into the middle of it?” And if you want to know why I asked that question, I guess you’ll just have to read the book to find out!   And without further ado, on to Rachel’s Back Talk!                                    ...

Welcome back to Rachel’s Back Talk! I’m so glad you could join me again. Today I am reviewing book 1 of Lauraine Snelling’s newest series, To Everything A Season. I had read other of Lauraine’s books which were set in Blessing, and I’m glad to see these characters continue! As is my custom, if I could ask Lauraine one question about To Everything A Season, it would be — “Do you ever get tired of writing about the Bjorkland family over and over again?” And if you want to know why I asked that question, I guess you’ll just have to read the book to find out!   And without further ado, on to Rachel’s Back Talk!                                  ...

Welcome back to Rachel’s Back Talk! I’m so glad you could join me again. Today I am reviewing one of Anne Mateers’s books, Playing by Heart. This was also the first book that I’ve read of Anne’s and I love her style of writing!   As is my custom, if I could ask Anne one question about Playing by Heart, it would be — “Why combine basketball and music for Lula’s jobs?” And if you want to know why I asked that questions, I guess you’ll just have to read the book to find out!   And without further ado, on to Rachel’s Back Talk!                                                  From the Back Cover:  Lula...
