“An Unexpected Love” Book Review

Jun 15, 2015 by

Welcome back to Rachel’s Back Talk! I’m so glad you could join me again. Today I am reviewing book 2 of Tracie Peterson and Judith Miller’s series, “The Broadmoor Legacy”, An Unexpected Love.

As is my custom, if I could ask Tracie and Judith one question about An Unexpected Love, it would be — “Is it hard to allow your characters to fall into ‘sticky’ situations?” And if you want to know why I asked that questions, I guess you’ll just have to read the book to find out!

And without further ado, onto Rachel’s Back Talk!

From the Back Cover:

Her family money has brought her everything she desires, but she is about to risk it all. . . .

Sophie Broadmoor adores fancy balls, beautiful gowns, and expensive jewelry. Indeed, she enjoys everything the Broadmoor wealth provides and has earned a reputation as the wildest of the Broadmoor cousins.

During a trip to England, she falls head over heels for Wesley Hedrick, a wealthy widower who promises her the world. But Wesley’s promises never seem to come true, and soon Sophie finds herself in a very compromising situation.

Why does it have to be Paul Medford, the young minister working with her father, who shows up during her worst moment? Paul is full of promises, too–and it’s clear that he has feelings for Sophie. But after all she’s been through, can she trust him?

A book about redemption, trust, and forgiveness, An Unexpected Love was the perfect sequel to A Daughter’s Inheritance. I loved reading the continuation of the Broadmoor cousins, especially reading about Sophie’s story.

Sophie finds herself in a difficult position, but I loved how Tracie and Judith used that to emphasize the importance of trust and redemption. Sophie has difficulty trusting men after someone she believed she loved so cruelly misused her trust. It was a wonderful story indeed to see how Sophie transformed her life.

And then there was Paul. Paul loved Sophie even though she declared on multiple occasions that she would never love him. I love how he stuck by her, never pushed her, and just waited for her to hopefully love him in return.

I’m so glad there is another book to read yet that will cover Amanda’s story!

Other books by Tracie and Judith I will read next:

A Surrendered Heart (Broadmoor Legacy, Book 3)

Daughter of the Loom (Bells of Lowell Book #1)

A Fragile Design (Bells of Lowell Book #2)
