“A July Bride” Book Review

Jul 27, 2015 by

Welcome back to Rachel’s Back Talk! I’m so glad you could join me again. Today I am reviewing Beth Wiseman’s book, A July Bride.

As is my custom, if I could ask Beth one question about A July Bride it would be — “Was it difficult to come up with a ‘good’ reason for Brandon to walk out on Alyssa?” And if you want to know why I asked that question, I guess you’ll just have to read the book to find out!

And without further ado, onto Rachel’s Back Talk!

From the Back Cover:

It was the happiest day of her life when Alyssa Pennington walked down the aisle to be united with the man of her dreams. But when Brendan left her at the altar, Alyssa was consumed by humiliation, embarrassment, and a broken heart that wouldn’t allow her to trust anyone. Brendan Myers knows he will spend the rest of his life regretting what he did to Alyssa, the only woman he’s ever loved. Now he plans to win her back. But winning back his bride might prove much more difficult than he can imagine.

Beth Wiseman crafted a wonderful book of how forgiveness is possible, even for a hurt so great. I loved Brandon and Alyssa’s story, especially as they learned why they truly loved each other.

Reeling from being jilted at the alter, Alyssa thought it would be best for her heart to move on from Brandon. I love how Beth mentioned that sometimes those you love you end up hurting the most. The true love comes in forgiveness and that was something that was displayed beautifully.

Truly a beautiful wedding story and I can’t wait to read the next one!
